How can you tell if you are stressed? Are there certain mental or physical signs that indicate your own personal level of stress?

Contrary to what many think, stress is often harder to identify than it seems. We might be good at knowing if we are worried or overwhelmed, but there are many signs of stress which we can oftentimes overlook.

Physical Signs can include abnormal stomach activity; accelerated heartbeat; chest pain; dizziness; headaches; muscle tension or pain; or sexual problems.

Mental Signs can include always worrying; feeling overwhelmed; forgetfulness; hard time concentrating; or struggling to make decisions. Behaviour changes may consist of being irritable; being snappy; eating too much or too little; increase in drinking; increase in smoking: sleeping too much or too little; or trying to avoid particular people and places.
